Requires Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11, Intel/AMD 64-bit.
Free unrestricted preview. No payment or license key required.

INSTALL / UPDATE
1. Back up your complete app data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\EyeSurgerySplits)
and your original videos. Keep your local account password securely.
2. Save your work and close all EyeSurgerySplits windows. If a prior update
reported DeleteFile failed / code 5, restart Windows first and do not
open EyeSurgerySplits until the update finishes.
3. Extract this ZIP using Extract All. Run the included installer and use
the existing installation folder when updating. Administrator access
is required for the default Program Files installation.
4. If setup reports a blocked file, close the app and retry. Do not ignore
file errors, delete saved data, or uninstall to clear an upgrade error.
If restarting does not resolve it, send the file path to support.
5. Open EyeSurgerySplits and sign in to your existing local account, or
create a local account on first use. Start with a synthetic test video.

WINDOWS SECURITY
This preview is unsigned. SmartScreen may display "Windows protected
your PC" and "Unknown publisher". The ZIP does not remove that warning
and is not a security certification. Do not disable Windows protection.
If Defender identifies a specific threat, stop and contact support.
You may prefer to wait for a signed release.

VERIFY THE DOWNLOAD
Compare SHA256SUMS.txt with the checksums published at:
https://eyesurgerysplits.com/third-party/
PowerShell can calculate the installer checksum with:
Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 .\EyeSurgerySplits-1.0.8-Windows-Preview.exe
A checksum verifies file identity, not publisher identity or safety.

CHANGES IN VERSION 1.0.8
Replacement videos are saved in the Surgery_Analyses case folder. The old
video is deleted only after the new video and case data are saved successfully.
Save both keeps the original.
Video saves now show live progress, elapsed time, encoding speed, and
approximate time remaining. Preparation and delayed updates are identified.
FFmpeg runs without opening a blank terminal window.
Includes the fixes from version 1.0.6:
Fixes video saving after locating or moving a saved case's video.
Save asks whether to replace the original video or save both (default).
Replacement occurs only after successful encoding; Cancel leaves files alone.
New profiles start empty, without importing developer or shared-install data.
Individual cases stay in Surgery_Analyses; aggregate CSVs use Total_Cases
under your local app data folder. Existing totals migrate without overwriting.
Installer excludes case data and preserves existing accounts and saved files.
Retains the shutdown and locked-file upgrade fixes from version 1.0.5.
Third-party dependencies are unchanged from version 1.0.4.
Third-party notices are installed with the app. Matching dependency
