Release updates.

Version 1.0.8 is now available as separate Apple Silicon and Intel Mac DMGs, plus an amd64 Linux DEB built on Ubuntu 24.04. These new platform previews need testing on real user machines.

The previews include unlimited case saves and require no payment or activation key. Mac downloads are not Developer ID signed or notarized. See the download page for requirements, installation steps, and a short testing checklist.

Replacing a video now saves the trimmed result in its Surgery_Analyses case folder and deletes the old video only after the new video and case data are saved successfully. Save both preserves the original. This fix is included in Windows, Mac, and Linux downloads.

Video saving now shows live progress, elapsed time, encoding speed, and an estimated time remaining. Preparation and delayed progress updates are identified, and FFmpeg no longer opens a blank terminal window.

Includes the video replacement choice and local case-data protections from version 1.0.6.

The free preview now opens the available desktop tools without a subscription or case limit, including installations with an old test license. Activation prompts have been removed from the preview.

Video saving now selects a working encoder from the actual FFmpeg executable in use. This fixes the “Unknown encoder libopenh264” error in source launchers. The EyeSurgerySplits app icon and previous drawing-save fixes are included.

The installer is unsigned. Mac compatibility testing is pending. Pro is planned at $20 USD/month; paid activation and Institutional memberships remain coming soon.
